I’m currently in H-1B status with a recent change of employer, and my wife recently changed status from H-4 to H-1B. Our visa stamps in our passports have expired, but we both have new approval notices (I-797A/I-797B) and valid, unexpired I-94 records reflecting our current statuses.

Would we be eligible to use automatic visa revalidation to travel to Mexico for less than 30 days and reenter the U.S. using our expired visa stamps along with our new approval notices? Are there any specific risks or limitations we should be aware of given our recent changes of status and employment?
